For years I grew up finding things challenging and thinking i wasn't part of society because i was born different from everyone else , i used to get bullied and didn't have any friends i felt very isolated i really thought id never amount to anything because no one wanted to involve me in any activity i felt like a complete outsider

Fast forward a few years i finished college and getting a job seemed easy at first but i soon learned that this also presented it own challenges that drained the life out of me as i was continuously moving from job to job to find something that i not only loved to do but made me feel empowered and part of a team

Everything changed when i discovered that there was a disabled swimming club that i could attend on a weekly basis, this allowed me to be myself and not hide away in the background over fear that i would not be spoken to , i gained confidence and a sense of empowerment because i did not feel out of place , for the first time in my life i was able to talk to people who were just like me even if i was feeling shy at times i knew that i wasn't being judged

Over a period of time i then came across the world of coaching and something clicked in my brain and i thought how can i use my personal experience to help other people in a similar situation to me

It's taken me a good number of years but i am now feeling more empowered than ever which has shifted my mindset to a new way of thinking and as a result i have now stopped dwelling on what i can't do and taking charge of what i can do and im using the fact that i was born with a disability to my advantage which is allowing me to live my best life and i am now super busy helping others with a disability or long-term health condition do the same
